About Us
Kaunos Tours: Kaunos Tours was founded in 1993 in the small village of Dalyan as a small tourism business for car, motorbike and cycle rentals. Since 1995 Kaunos Tours has owned a franchise with the well known quality car rental organisation Europcar. The same year we started to arrange mountain bike tours exploring the beautiful lands around Dalyan. This resulted in the first map of Dalyan and the surrounding area, which is now still available in our office and visible in front of our office.
Kaunos Tours became a licenced tour operator in 1996. With well trained staff new tours have been organised such as Jeep safari's, mountain biking, canyoning and several foreign tour operators started working in cooperation with us.
The first web site of Dalyan was designed by Kaunos Tours and has been online since 1997.
Online booking services for accommodations, airport transfers, car rental and package tours has become a reality for Dalyan. Over the past couple of years the web site has grown into a huge information centre about Dalyan. The number of activities has grown over the years to include relaxing boat cruises, special jeep safaris, road cycle tours, mountain bike tours, trekking, sea kayaking, and rent a car with private driver and intensives.

We specialise in providing a wide range of fun day-activities and multi-day trips in Dalyan and area. Whether you want a lazy day on a boat or a multi-day trip comprising of walks between villages, with a jeep safari, canyoning or white-water rafter included, airport transfers, accommodation we can arrange it, tailor-making it to your exact needs as required. We are experts in the use of sea-kayaks, mountain bikes and 4WD vehicles and know many little-known paths to small, hidden villages, enabling us to show you a different side to rural Turkey.
The role of our guides is not only to make sure everything runs smoothly, but to impart, in a fun way, something of the traditions and culture of the region and its people, ensuring you come away with knowledge about what you have seen and the people you have met.
Licences: Under rulings set by the Turkish government, all travel operators have to obtain a tourism enterprise license, TURSAB. Kaunos Tours has an A-licence for in-coming and outgoing tours the number is 3830. All tours are insured with our special outdoor insurance and public liability insurance up till 500.000 USD.
Responsible travel: Dalyan is located in an environmentally protected area, which includes the beautiful Köyceğiz Lake and Iztuzu beach, used by turtles for egg laying. Kaunos Tours prides itself on organizing its trips and activities in an eco-friendly way, giving full respect for the environment, enjoying it but not damaging it. Over many years we have built up strong relationships with local families and small businesses and as a result we now provide a significant income to some of these people, supporting the local rural economy in new ways.
