Turtles and sand

On the beach (best open spaces award winner 2008) located near Dalyan are the Caretta Caretta turtles nesting. Every spring (april-may) the female lay their eggs and in August the young ones are coming out and have their run for the sea.

The protected beach is open from 8 AM till 20 PM and the turtle visitors area is open from 10 AM till 6 PM. Here you can visit the injured turtles being treated. In August you can also find some new hatches in the big bassins

You can travel by public boat and public bus to the beach. As well several tours will visit the land site and sea site of the beach.

For example jeep safari, trekking and mountainbiking are spending some time at the road site of Turtle beach. The seakayak tour, follow the lycian coast is even starting from this unique spot in Turkey.

The snorkel, fish and early morning boat tour do use the narrow and undeep exit from the Calbis river to the Mediterranean.
